Holiday signs are back from the store and...
I set out on a mission a few months ago to make 3x6” hand-painted signs for a consignment shop in my neighborhood. Each one has magnets on the back so that you can hang them on your refrigerator (if you want to).
If I remember correctly I painted fourteen of these holiday signs and got them all in to ilikeyou (Minneapolis) by December 12th, 2022. “I wonder if…
New hand painted sign
New sign painting on printmaking paper, “Possibly the most…”, 22x36”, enamel and acrylic paint
Inspired by issue #87 of the comic book title, Fantastic Four, by the illustrious Stan Lee and Jack Kirby- (I just read a book about that guy too) 🤷🏽♂️
It is weird what motivates people. I just had to get this painting done last night before the new year. There is no immediate need but… I don’t know, it just seemed important.
2022 has now arrived!
New sign painting on a scrap piece of wood
New signage on a scrap piece of masonite, 11 3/4 x 16 1/4”. ‘From Beyond The Unknown’.
Inspired by the DC comics title with the same name.
Looks like this might…. be the last sign for the year. But there is one more week left so….
New sign painting on a scrap piece of wood
New hand painted sign on a scrap piece of wood; small one this time… 6.5 x 4.5”. Inspired by text I saw on an Oatly milk carton, (as I drink their product everyday when I pour milk into my coffee).
So that is one interpretation, but I must say that things have been rather dramatic lately so maybe that’s the other inspiration.

Couple more pictures from the scene of the crime - painting on thrift store paintings
Last week I purchased a framed print (print of a painting) by Hugh Knollys, titled ‘Red Jacket’ (which I am assuming is the name of the ship). The painting/print cost around $3.00. I chose this particular piece because it was available, but also because I felt that there was room for collaboration. A rubber duck was painted on the print and then the piece was returned to Hidden Treasures Thrift Store on April 17, 2021, 4:30pm. (2915 Pentagon Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55418)
