My experiences growing up in the circus, performing at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, and painting set pieces and backdrops for the theater, have given me the rare opportunity to live and work in a world of fantasy and simulation. These experiences shaped my understanding of visual storytelling and the power of spectacle.
Drawing inspiration from classic circus sideshow banners of the past, my paintings take on the appearance of large, weathered, event banners that call attention to a grand exhibit that never fully reveals itself. Through bright, bold colors and a worn, weathered aesthetic, the artwork creates a visual state of anticipation—an invitation to an event or performance that remains just out of reach. By blending elements of promotional art and visual spectacle, my work seeks to hold space for the tension between what is seen and what is felt,
what is promised and what is delivered. The result is a visual experience that is as much about the anticipation of a moment as it is about the moment itself.
